The reason that something is called a fashion craze is because it’s often seen as ridiculously weird, and it can be over in months. Some things just don’t have the sticking power to continue for more than a year, and so we often see the strangest fashion choices suddenly appear, become wildly popular, and then within six months be labelled as ‘unfashionable’ all over again. It’s often difficult to keep up with all of the different twists and turns that a trend can take, but every now again something that is at first labelled as a ‘craze’ seems to last the distance – and that is exactly what has happened to Botox.
You remember Botox? It was cringeworthy in the 80s and 90s when Hollywood actors, actresses, musicians, and stars decided to have their faces Botoxed to within an inch of their lives, and we all sighed to see how they had completely ruined their complexions. But as the 2000s came in, we suddenly realized that there were still plenty of celebrities were indulging in Botox, but we had kind of stopped noticing – because they were going about it in a much more subtle and natural way. Now, in 2016, it is sometimes impossible to tell who has had Botox and who hasn’t, because the changes are so natural and so delicate. If a person starts to have Botox injections in their forehead as the very first wrinkles and lines start to appear, then it is impossible to know if they are just aging particularly well, or if they have found a brilliant Botox doctor.
This is something that many health professionals are actually embracing, because it proves that Botox has transitioned from just being a crazy fashion fad that people just were not taking seriously to a health routine that is being performed by actual professionals who know what they are doing. One man who has seen it all unfurl is Dr Howard Katz, a Botox professional who has taught all over the world – and even designed and patented much of the technology that is used in Botox administration today. His Botox training and certification program has always centered around not only treating Botox as a science, but also as an art form. When his students receive their Botox certification, they have proved that they are able to not only give Botox injections from a practical point of view, but also that they can give their patients a really beautiful and natural look that they will enjoy.
So it does not look as though the craze of Botox is going to go away any time soon, but in a way, we’re glad. It just goes to show that as long as you take something seriously and do not go completely overboard with it, it is possible to make something that could fade into being last month’s news into a healthy way of life for people so that they can feel confident about the way that they look again. And that is something worth celebrating.
